EU Mandates Smart Tachographs (G2V2) for Light Commercial Vehicles by July 2026

Starting July 1, 2026, the European Union will extend the requirement for second-generation smart tachographs (G2V2) to light commercial vehicles between 2.5 and 3.5 tonnes engaged in international road transport. This amendment under the EU Mobility Package aims to align working hours, rest times, and fair cabotage tracking across lighter fleets, marking a critical transition for logistics operations across European borders.
